As a Derrickman / Pumpman you are responsible for handling the pipes in the derrick, during assembly and disassembly of the drill string. When the drilling starts, it is also your job to ensure that the mud pumps function as efficiently as possible and that there is sufficient mud to lubricate and keep up the pressure in the hole. After a period of work as a Derrickman / Pumpman there is a possibility to become an Assistant Driller. It is preferable that you live in or nearby the Netherlands or United Kingdom.
As a Derrickman your tasks and duties mainly consist out of: • Handling the pipes in the derrick; • Ensure that the mud pumps function efficiently; • Mix and test drilling fluids, chemicals and grout; • Operate equipment such as pumps for air, water and mud, equipment and tools used to correct problems in drilled holes caused by mechanical breakdowns or by harmful natural conditions. |

Basic Offshore Training: • NOGEPA 0.5 a/b (HUET) or BOSIET • VCA for supervisors (Dutch) / SCC (English) • Offshore Medical • Certificate of Competency for forklift driver |
