For one of our clients we are looking for roughnecks / floormen
The Roughneck (or Floorman) is a member of the oil drilling crew and is responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment used on the drill floor. You also handle all mechanical tasks that are needed to be taken care of. As a Roughneck you are responsible for checking the oil flow and making sure that there are no leaks in the pipes and fittings anywhere along this line. You should have a good knowledge of mechanical systems, be skilled at working with hand and power tools and being able to repair any tools that are used and break down.
As a Roughneck your tasks and duties mainly consist out of:
• Assisting by setting up and taking down drill pipe connections with the help of special pliers and / or machines;
• Check and maintain systems and machinery;
• Cleaning up the drill rig area;
• Assisting on the rig where appropriate;
• Assisting by special operations at the well performed by the service companies;
• Manipulate sections of pipe or drill stem at the rig floor during drilling and during the removal and replacement of strings of pipe or drill stem and drill bit.
