IPS was founded in 1988, as a personnel supplier to the dredging industry. The two founders, Leo Oostendorp and Theo Wanders met fourteen years earlier, during the construction of the ASRY Causeway and Drydock project in Bahrain.
Later on Leo worked as a material coordinator in the dredging industry for the Stevin Group and as a member of a new building team for an Offshore Dredging Unit in Holland. After this, he worked as the area manager in the ME for Zanen Verstoep.Theo gained lots of experience in the HR administration at Gulf Cobla and Zanen Verstoep in the ME and in Holland.
They both lived abroad and travelled a lot, Leo mostly in the whole ME, Southern Africa, Europe and Canada. Theo in Canada, Bahrain, Saudi-Arabia, Pakistan and Indonesia. In those years, Leo worked on different dredging projects in different area's. Theo worked as a personnelmanager in the ME and at Zanen Verstoep head office in the Hague, the Netherlands.
After the oil shock of 1988, the dredging industry had to struggle up again. At that time Leo Oostendorp en Theo Wanders decided to combine their experience and network in personnel management and started a recruitment company for the dredging industry. They founded iPS.
Like any other new established company, iPS started as a small company and looked at affiliated industries in order to increase business possibilities. In the years after the start iPS has set up several companies and agencies abroad. The company had always been trying to get the most out of the markets. Still today, this entrepreneurship defines iPS.
